Pinnacle MarineFollowing Benetti's success at the recent Cannes Yachting Festival (where it scooped two prestigious World Yachts Trophies), the company is now heading to the Monaco Yacht Show to present three of its newest superyachts. The show will take place at Port Hercules from September 25-28.
The largest of Benetti's trio will be the custom-built Metis, winner of the Best Exterior Design award at Cannes and a stunning tribute to Benetti's craftsmanship. With its steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the Metis spans 5 decks, measures 63 meters and has a maximum beam of 10.6 meters. Exterior design was the work of Giorgio M. Cassetta, while interiors were managed by the British design studio Bannenberg & Rowell.
The owner's apartment is an impressive feature – it covers an area of more than 160 square meters and enjoys wonderful panoramic views thanks to full-height windows that surround much of its perimeter. The apartment includes 2 bathrooms (one fitted with a sauna and shower, the other with a bathtub), walk-in wardrobes, a spacious day area with sofa and television, and an outdoor terrace with a touch and go helipad.
Children are well catered for on board the Metis. On the main deck, in addition to the saloon with its relaxation and dining areas, there's a children's playroom, twin children's cabins and an adjoining nanny suite. The lower deck includes four large staterooms and accommodation for a crew of 12, while the bridge deck on top features an outside lounge area with dining table, bar and jacuzzi.
A member of Benetti's Class Collection, the Mediterraneo 116 is a dazzling work of art that has captivated boating enthusiasts ever since it was first announced. The fifth and most recent hull, Big Five, will be present at Monaco.
The Mediterraneo measures 35.5 meters and has a beam of 7.7 meters. The yacht's relatively low draft (2.15 meters) means she's as much at ease cruising shallow waters as she is crossing the Mediterranean or Caribbean. Interiors can be customized to suit individual preferences, but the basic configuration allows for 5 elegant staterooms and accommodation for a crew of 7 in 4 cabins. The owner's stateroom on the main deck is full beam and includes a private studio.
Constructed from a fiberglass hull and carbon-fiber superstructure, the Mediterraneo's exterior is the work of Italian designer Giorgio M. Cassetta. Drawing inspiration from Benetti's heritage, Cassetta created the yacht's smooth, flowing lines, while at the same time introduced contemporary, functional design, perhaps best showcased by the 3-meter-long "picture windows". These windows bathe interior spaces with light and enhance the feeling of spaciousness.
We wanted to create a yacht conceived to tackle future challenges, but without betraying the spirit of Benetti's most glorious past projects.
Giorgio M. Cassetta
Interiors are everything you'd expect from Benetti. Aft, the 6-meter-wide cockpit flows seamlessly into the main saloon lounge where "picture windows" illuminate the dining area. The main deck also features a forward beach area with an optional pool. Loose furniture here on the bow provides guests with flexibility and unobstructed views.
The lower deck features Benetti's signature layout of two VIP suites aft and two cabins with twin beds forward. Accommodation is provided for 6 crew members in three double cabins and a captain's cabin by the helm station, all of which are positioned to ensure maximum privacy for the yacht's owner and guests.
The third of Benetti's trio on display at Monaco will be the Eurus, launched at Viareggio earlier this year and the fourth hull in Benetti's Delfino line. Like the Mediterraneo, the Delfino is part of the Class Collection and features a fiberglass displacement hull and carbon fiber superstructure. She measures 28.95 meters (95 feet) and sports a beam of just over 7 meters. Twin MAN engines give her a maximum speed of 13 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. Exterior design was once again by Giorgio M. Cassetta; the yacht boasts 4 decks and 5 cabins that can comfortably accommodate 10 guests.
The interior of the Eurus has been personally selected by the owner and is very distinctive. The parquet flooring is an appealing blend of light and dark oak, while the owner's suite and guest cabins include fixtures made from Zebrino and Limestone marble. Fabrics come in shades of pink, green and blue, and create welcoming environments throughout the yacht. Practical features include a wine-cellar, an ice machine, two washing machines and two dryers.
As new as the Eurus is, she's not the most recent in the series. In July a seventh hull named Aslan was launched. Unlike the Eurus, the Aslan has a striking navy blue exterior, while interiors are characterized by alternating carpets and teak floors, open bookcases, and decorative lamps in the living area and cabins.
