The All-New Azimut 53 Flybridge

The new Azimut 53 is a feature-laden flybridge that will appeal as much to owners yearning for long family cruises as to boaties who revel in entertaining, wining and dining, or simply relaxing and soaking up the sun. The Azimut 53 Flybridge is an extremely versatile boat.

At the very front of the boat is the squared-off bow – a signature feature of Azimut yachts and something that creates much more space on the foredeck. The flybridge is spacious enough to accommodate a large party of guests in comfort. Its teak-topped bar and barbeque unit ensures hours of al-fresco dining with friends and family. Shading options include an electric bimini with integrated LED lighting and a fiberglass hardtop.

The layout of the cockpit is designed to make the most efficient use of space. The stairs leading up to the flydeck and down to the swim platform are on the starboard side, which leaves space for a long teak table and L-shaped sofa. In the corner, a bar cabinet provides a sink, ice maker, and wine cooler.

Spacious Interiors

Moving into the saloon, the Azimut 53 boasts a full-height fridge, induction hobs, an extractor fan, dishwasher and oven. But what's really striking about the saloon is the impression of abundant natural light and space. Cabinetry oozes quality; storage space abounds; and the emphasis on comfort and luxury fabrics is everywhere.

One of the highlights of the Azimut 53 is the owner's suite. Situated amidships to take advantage of the maximum beam of 4.95 meters, the suite is generously proportioned with high ceilings and a walk-in wardrobe. As you'd expect, the head is tasteful and modern.

The lobby has space for a washer-dryer plus storage areas. There's a twin cabin to starboard, while the forward VIP cabin benefits from the squared-off bow, meaning it's especially comfortable and spacious.

Volvo Penta IPS Propulsion

The Azimut 53 is powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 950 drives, giving her a top speed of 31 knots and a cruising speed of anything up to 27 knots. With 2,400 liters of fuel in the tank, she has a cruising range of around 265 nautical miles.

The benefits of the IPS drives can't be overstated. With their forward-facing propellers they pull rather than push the yacht, resulting in more speed, excellent manoeuvrability, less noise and vibration, and better fuel efficiency. In addition, because exhaust fumes are emitted through the IPS and into the prop wash, there are virtually no fumes. The drives have also won acclaim for their joystick control. Whenever course correction is needed, simply tap or twist the joystick to change course in one-degree increments.
