Benetti Oasis 40

Unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2018, Benetti's Oasis 40 is a stunning work of art that re-defines the superyacht concept and offers guests a unique opportunity to experience life at sea in a whole new way. As of November 2019, Benetti has taken five orders for the yacht, with delivery of the first scheduled for Summer 2020. Buyers hail from America, Asia and Europe.

The 4-deck yacht measures just under 41 meters in length, has a maximum beam of 8.5 meters and sports a predominantly GRP construction. Exterior design was a collaboration between Benetti and British design firm RWD, while interiors were managed by New York-based architects Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture.

The Beach Terrace: an Oasis of Tranquility

The yacht's emphasis on outdoor living is perhaps most evident on the beach terrace, where side and rear platforms can be folded down to provide additional comfort and relaxation space. The centerpiece of this area is a large infinity pool that skims the surface of the ocean; loose furnishings can be moved around with ease, and the sea is only ever a few steps away. As for water toys, the yacht's garage can house a 6.25-meter tender and a couple of jet skis.

Interiors are characterized by high ceilings and oversize windows that flood living spaces with natural light. The main deck saloon, for example, features floor-to-ceiling windows that slide open to create a wonderful indoor / outdoor experience. Benetti offers two interior designs for the Oasis 40, though both use the same light-colored leather, white lacquer and rosewood accents to emphasize space and minimize boundaries between the interior and exterior.

The owner's suite is situated on the main deck and offers an expansive apartment, complete with a study area, marble bathroom and private balcony. Two elegant staterooms and a pair of twin-berth cabins are located on the lower deck. Together with the owner's suite, these provide accommodation for up to ten guests. Five staff cabins sleep a crew of nine.

The pilot house has been created with thought and care. Rather than just a workstation with hi-tech instruments and navigational equipment, the yacht's designers have made this area a comfortable living space with sofas and armchairs. The captain's cabin is positioned immediately aft. Power is provided by twin MAN V12-1400 engines, giving the yacht a cruising speed between 11 and 14.5 knots, and a top speed of about 15 knots. Maximum range at 11 knots is 4000 nautical miles.

Industry Praise

The Benetti Oasis 40 has generated considerable attention in the yachting and mainstream press, and earned significant praise for its innovative design. The magazine Architectural Digest described the Oasis 40 as "a vessel that stands out in a sea of ultraluxe yachts", while the RobbReport noted that the yacht's concept "radically reinvents the aft deck and main saloon". Meanwhile, industry publications such as Superyacht Times discussed the yacht's "sophisticated design" and "informal yet elegant atmosphere".

Franco Fusignani, Benetti's CEO, gratefully acknowledged the feedback and took the opportunity to focus on Benetti's ongoing ability to innovate and anticipate customer requirements.

The Azimut Grande 35 Metri Connection

Earlier this year we sold an Azimut Grande 35 Metri to a buyer here in New Zealand. We were interested, then, to note that the third Oasis 40 was sold to a buyer who also owns a Grande 35 Metri. While different in terms of size, configuration and interior design, both yachts exemplify the luxury and contemporary styling that Azimut and Benetti are renowned for. The photo below shows the main deck saloon on the Benetti Oasis 40. When the sliding windows are fully open, there's a seamless transition from interior to exterior spaces, and once again a chance to embrace the spirit of outdoor living.
