Elan Yachts is a Slovenian company with a history of boat building that dates back to 1949. The company's premium sailing yachts are renowned for their luxurious interiors and superior performance. Elan Yachts offers three collections: GT, the E Line and Impression Line. The GT collection is currently led by the award-winning GT6, a 50-foot yacht that blends sportiness with luxury and comfort. Not so long ago the GT collection came to the attention of Dr Charles Kuehmann, Vice President of Materials Engineering at Tesla and SpaceX. While searching for a sailing yacht he could adapt to electric power, Dr Kuehmann came across the Elan GT5 and decided it would be perfect for his needs.
This is a great looking, fun-to-sail, very comfortable cruising boat with build quality a cut above that of most mass-production boats. Compared to other high-quality performance cruising boats from Europe, it represents a very good value.

Elan's E Line consists of 3 yachts ranging in length form 36 to 50 feet (10.6 to 11.5 meters), width beams extending from 11 to 15 feet (3.5 to 4.5 meters). Designed in cooperation with Humphreys Yacht Design, Elan's E Line yachts are based on strong, lightweight hulls optimized for both racing and cruising. Their stylish interiors are inherited from the GT series and have won industry praise for unprecedented comfort and innovative use of space. The photos show the Elan E4.
Elan's Impression Line blends cruising comfort with bright, roomy interiors and world-class quality. Two Deck Saloons are available: the 43.1 and 50.1, both of which are ideal for comfortable daysailing, island hopping, or relaxing cruises around New Zealand's coastline.
The Elan Impression 50.1, shown below, offers plenty of natural light and, unique to a cruiser of this size, an inverted deck saloon, which ensures optimal full-beam use of the yacht without compromising the cabin and galley areas. The large sundeck is another signature feature of this yacht, as is the allure of al-fresco dining with friends and family.
