The New Benetti B.Yond 37M

Debuted at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2019, Benetti's B.Yond 37M is the company's first foray into the typically conservative world of expedition yachts. But the B.Yond 37M is far from conservative, nor does she exude any of the inelegance often associated with this type of boat.

In fact, Benetti have come up with an innovative, four-deck design that's little short of amazing. By radically re-thinking the use of interior spaces, the B.Yond 37M boasts the sort of internal volumes you'd typically find only on yachts measuring 50 meters or more. To cap it all, a diesel-electric propulsion system ensures reduced environmental impact and greater fuel efficiency.

Let's start by looking at the lower deck. Here you'll find the engine room, captain's cabin and crew quarters, and a fully-fitted galley with a dumbwaiter that connects all four decks. The design philosophy is simple: by keeping the crew conveniently close to the engine room, the guests are kept conveniently far from it, which of course reduces noise and vibration. The lower deck also features a gymnasium (which can used as an extra stateroom if needed) and a large, sea-level beach club with an optional sauna.

Worth stressing is that all decks are connected by two separate staircases: one for the owner and his guests and one for the crew. It's a thoughtful design touch that maximizes privacy.

Benetti B.Yond 37M: Main Deck

The main deck is reserved for guest accommodation and an enormous garage that can house two jet skis and a pair of tenders (6.5 and 4.2 meters). The full-beam owner's suite is positioned forward and provides an unusually spacious sleeping and living area, complete with its own lounge, office and en-suite bathroom.

The rest of the guest accommodation is placed immediately behind. The two aft-most cabins and the owners' suite can be configured with private terraces that open out onto the sea, guaranteeing enviable views and the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee or a glass of wine at sunset. The main deck aft provides a cozy viewing platform along the stern, while a broad central staircase connects to the upper deck.

Benetti B.Yond 37M: Upper Deck

The upper deck is a superb design solution that owners and guests will really appreciate. When ascending to it from the stairs on the main deck, guests enjoy an unhindered view straight through the yacht, from the stern all the way to the bow. Full-height windows bathe the deck with natural light and amplify the feeling of space.

Free from constraints such as the galley and/or guest accommodation, the upper deck provides an abundance of space for sitting and relaxing. The dining area at the bow opens onto a vast open-air lounge on the foredeck, furnished with chairs, sofas and coffee tables.

Benetti B.Yond 37M: Bridge Deck

The bridge deck contains a lounge with sliding glass screens to protect against rain and strong winds. Aft, a jacuzzi dominates the outdoor area, while the bow includes the helm station and a radio room that can also be used at night as a rest area for the captain. And remember, this deck – just like the main and upper decks – is connected to the galley by a dumbwaiter, meaning that food and drinks are always available when required.

Finally, the open-air sun deck at the top of the boat provides space for a wet bar and alfresco dining; sunbeds and sun loungers are placed forward and aft respectively. It's the ideal place to end a leisurely day – whether it be casual dining with friends and family, watching perfect sunsets, or enjoying a bottle of bubbly under the stars.

Benetti B.Yond 37M: Hybrid Propulsion

Along with the yacht's huge interior volumes and careful attention to crew and passenger flows, the hybrid propulsion system is a stand-out feature of the Benetti B.Yond 37M. The system was designed specially for the Azimut|Benetti Group by Siemens and provides four distinct modes for cruising:

Enhanced Comfort, ideal for night and coastal cruising with no emissions

Eco Cruise, for zero emissions while cruising or at anchor

Extended Range, an option designed to reduce consumption on very long trips

Eco Transfer, where a single engine drives both shafts, thereby reducing engine hours and improving performance

The twin MAN V12 1400 HP engines produce a top speed of 14 knots and a range of 5,000 nautical miles.
